Handmade from platinum and 18 kt. gold, our Padparadscha Sapphire Ring is unique in both gem and style. Among the rarest and most sought after sapphires, the Padparadscha has been prized throughout time for its rare pink and orange tones. Worthy of a custom ring, this rare 3.84 carat oval Gemstone is showcased in a dazzling two tone setting featuring a luminous field of diamonds beneath center gem.
Designing the Sapphire Ring
When confronted with exotic Gemstones like this Padparadscha Sapphire, our designers strive to put the emphasis on the featured gem. This thinking often leads us to tried and true design layouts that have been used by old world craftsmen through the ages. That being said we will always attempt to spin an original twist into the traditional stone layouts to evolve the look into more contemporary styling.
Confronted with the soft tones of this gorgeous “pad” sapphire, we chose enhance the already brilliant stone by presenting it over a field of brilliant white diamonds which bathe the underside of featured gem with a subtle glow. This feature along with our soft cornered ring shank easily separates our ring from traditional designs of the past.
Of course, a ring of this importance deserved the status of handmade jewelry. Starting with two pools of molten precious metal, one platinum, the other 18 karat yellow gold, our master model makers forged the materials into small components and elements using only tools guided by hand. In the spirit of old world masters they then assembled these miniature parts at extreme temperatures under magnification with a jeweler’s torch.
Upon completion the intricate model is tooled by expert diamond setters, each stone seated and secured in delicate prongs to ensure a lifetime of wear. After a final polish this impressive Handmade Padparadscha Sapphire ring has come to life ready to be worn and passed on for generations.
