Amazing Rhodolite Ring

Amazing Rhodolite Ring

What’s the first thing you notice when you look at this Amazing Rhodolite Ring? Is it the dozens of diamonds winking back at you? The dark purple center stone that draws you deeper into the ring? Or is it how perfectly smooth the ring is, as if it were made of glass rather than precious metal?

Of course, it can be all of the above and more. But that’s just the finished product; would you believe me if I told you that creating a work of art is just as mesmerizing as the piece itself?
The process starts, as all projects do, with inspiration. In this case; the center stone that stands out as the flash of color in an otherwise neutral ring.

What started as an idea quickly became reality. The ring was designed in a CAD program to help visualize the structure and calculate details such as diamond balance. Once the artisan was happy with the computer design, the ring was 3D printed and prepared for casting.

This ring was cast using the Lost Wax Casting Process, a delicate process that brings the ring to life from it’s wax base. It may not look like much as it comes out of the plaster, but that’s just the first step in the creation.

This ring comes in two parts: the ring part that you wear, and the top part with the diamonds and center stone. These pieces need to be carefully assembled by hand in order to create the final product. Our master jeweler has decades of experience with this work, and makes it look effortless.

The ring then moves on to polishing – where the beauty really starts to shine through. It may take the artisans hours to get the metal looking just right, but it’s worth every minute to bring out the best in the ring.

Setting the Mon Cherie was a meticulous operation, requiring a steady hand and the patience that only comes with years of experience. Each diamond corresponds with a specific part on the ring, and even then each slot needs to be double checked and slightly adjusted to make sure the diamonds fit perfectly. The center stone is the finale of setting; the jewel is delicately placed and the prongs holding it are closed around it. Everything is double and triple checked to make sure it’s all aligned and laid out evenly, then it can be polished one last time before inspection.

Just like every piece that comes out of our shop, this rhodolite ring is carefully examined by an expert eye. Once satisfied with the result, the ring is ready to be worn and enjoyed for years to come.
