Gemstone Sourcing

Jewelry Designs’ owners, Robert and Karen Underhill, have been sourcing loose gemstones from around the world since 1980. Throughout that period of time, they have developed relationships with cutters, miners, and gem importers from every continent. As jewelry manufacturers, we have the capability of using exotic gems and minerals that are not often seen in commercially made jewelry. In the picture, Robert Underhill III, is holding a rough 2000 plus carat gem grade Zambian Emerald in Jaipur, India.

Gemstone Selection

Jewelry Designs has the area's largest selection of loose un-mounted gemstones. We have tens of thousands of loose gemstones in over 100 varieties in house. You will see gems from traditional to unique, one-of-a-kind stones. Many of our stones are sculpted into unusual shapes that can only be used by skilled artisans and expert setters. Because of our design versatility, we can use precious jewels that cannot be used in mass produced jewelry.
