How to Design Jewelry
The first step when you design jewelry is to find and develop confidence in your own sense of style. The easiest way to do that is to view a wide variety of designer jewelry similar to what you are looking for. So if you want to design your own rings— look at rings; or if you want a custom necklace— look at necklaces. As you are doing this your jewelry designer may explain various gemstones, methods of stone setting, and elements of design to help you identify gems, patterns, and features that appeal to you. Through looking at and handling the many examples of jewelry design we have on hand you will soon realize the design elements that you dislike and can focus on a jewelry design that motivates you. It will not be long before you are able to categorize designer jewelry and understand the characteristics that you most desire.
Through the process of elimination, a jewelry designer will help you to organize your thoughts and reduce most of the confusion of designing your own necklace, ring, or bracelet. While reviewing models of custom jewelry and looking at loose gems you will gain an understanding of the things you like most in your custom made jewelry design.

All of the gemstones, gold, and platinum will be carefully chosen by our project specialists to ensure that your new designer jewelry meets the highest standards.
A team of jewelry artisans will be assigned to creating your jewelry design. The master jewelers on the team will be selected by their specific talents at jewelry designing, model making, diamond setting, and finishing.
Once the jewelry design has been established, the first stage in making jewelry is to create a model. In some cases handmade models are crafted strictly by hand. These models are made from gold or platinum using tools that are manually controlled. Jewelry Models that are made in this way qualify as handmade jewelry.
The most common method of creating a model for your custom jewelry is to design it from jewelers wax. Using jewelers wax, custom necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets can be sculpted to the jewelry design you have chosen. Wax Carving is easier than forming solid metal providing the jewelry artisan more flexibility while making your custom jewelry model. After the wax model has been created, your customized jewelry is completed and inspected for accuracy, and it will be encased in a plaster mold. The wax model of your customized jewelry will then be burned from the mold at high temperatures overnight. In the morning the mold will have a hollow of your personalized jewelry. Molten gold or platinum will be forced into the mold using a centrifuge. The mold is then broken away leaving behind the rough, unfinished, platinum or gold model of your cast jewelry design.
The casting of the customized jewelry will be filed, finished, and polished before it is given to a skilled jewelry artisan who will shape and form it at a jewelers’ bench. Using gravers, files, a rotary, and jewelers’ tools detail and design will be added to your custom jewelry design. Prongs closures and ornamental details will be added with torches and lasers on your new jewelry design.
